Day 1   Arrive Cairo

On arrival in Cairo you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the following three nights.
Stay: Cairo Sheraton, or similar   

Camel and Pyramids

Day 2   Cairo

Today is dedicated to exploring Egypt’s rich antiquities. After breakfast, your expert Egyptologist guide will pick you up from your hotel for a full-day tour of Giza, located about 30 minutes from Cairo city. First visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx—two iconic landmarks that are just as awe-inspiring as you’ve imagined.  You’ll also visit the necropolis of Sakkara, home to the famed Step Pyramid of Djoser. After lunch at a local restaurant, spend the afternoon at the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum where your guide will take you to the most important exhibits and explain the history of Egypt to prepare you for the sites you will visit on your Nile cruise.

Day 3   Cairo

Your Egyptologist guide will collect you for a visit to the museum where the spectacular King Tut exhibition is housed. Following lunch in a local restaurant, you will visit the iconic Citadel of Saladin, where you’ll explore the majestic Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Next, discover the architectural beauty and historical significance of the Hanging Church and St. Sergius Church.

In the evening, you may choose to take a taxi or uber to Khan el-Khalili, Cairo's historic souk. This vibrant marketplace, a labyrinth of narrow alleys, overflows with colorful stalls offering everything from aromatic spices and exquisite textiles to traditional crafts and unique souvenirs. It’s a must-visit destination where visitors can fully immerse themselves in Cairo’s rich culture and lively street life.

Day 4   Cairo - Luxor

You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Luxor, where you will tour Luxor and Karnak Temples before checking in to your Nile cruise boat. Enjoy lunch and the rest of the day at leisure onboard or exploring Luxor independently.

Day 5   Nile Cruise 

Early this morning, you may opt for a hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings (extra expense). 

After breakfast onboard, visit the stunning tombs at the Valley of the Kings, which houses over 60 elaborately decorated tombs, including that of Tutankhamun, revealing treasures and insights into ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife.  See the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s few female rulers and most successful Pharaohs, As you return to your ship, take a photo stop by the giant Colossi of Memnon.  Sail to Edfu.

Day 6  Nile Cruise

Today you will visit the Temple of Horus by horse drawn carriage. The temple was built to honor the falcon-headed God,and is well-preserved. Sail from Edfu to Kom Ombo and visit the Temple of Kom Ombo. Sail on to Aswan.

Day 7  Nile Cruise

This morning, you can enjoy Aswan independently, visiting the markets and the "Agatha Christie" hotel where she penned Death on the Nile. Or, add a side trip to Abu Simbel (highly recommended, extra expense). In the afternoon take a traditional felucca cruise and enjoy local entertainment.

Day 8  Aswan - Cairo

After departing your cruise boat, tour the elegant Temple of Philae dedicated to Isis, painstakingly rescued from the rising waters by UNESCO. Continue with a visit of the High Dam. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then fly back to Cairo and transfer to a hotel located near the airport to facilitate early morning departures tomorrow. 

Rest of day at leisure.
